In the ALFA project seven partners have worked together to increase the capacity of their rivers for storing and conveying water. This will protect people in their areas against the risk of flooding. The seven partners have worked in different river systems in Belgium, France, Germany, United Kingdom and The Netherlands. In this picture of an imaginary river you can see what type of measures were carried out in the upstream, midstream or downstream parts pf the basin. By clicking on the drops a film will show you what that specific measure was about. The films below this page will tell you about the total context of the ALFA project. In the other pages you will find more information on the ALFA measures and outputs like the best practices on water friendly farming and forestry. ALFA was co-funded by INTERREG IVB NWE.
